MAD is looking for a new Buyer to join our growing team.

Primary Function:

Responsible for the procurement and replenishment of materials and components in accordance with MRP and commodity strategies to support production requirements, while optimizing inventory levels; analyze trends and make recommendations to maximize operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have proven customer service skills, ability to work in a high-volume environment, strong attention to detail while improving production rate


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • College degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3-5 years purchasing/ buyer experience
  • At least 2 years of ERP and MRP systems experience.
  • APICS certification an asset.


  • Execute all aspects of MRP actions, such as placing new orders, and expediting and maintaining the system with accurate data.
  • Accurately maintain system planning parameters.
  • Analyze and forecast material usage to suggest ways to improve efficiency.
  • Identify inventory items with undesirable movement and develop strategies to address them.
  • Return non-conforming materials to suppliers and obtain replacements in a timely manner.
  • Plan material changes with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply and avoid inventory obsolescence.
  • Resolve discrepancies in invoicing, receiving, and inventory.
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and manage suppliers as necessary.
  • Provide reports to the Supplier Performance Program.
  • Research, search for, and present supplier options for new and existing products/materials.
  • Regularly evaluate pricing to determine opportunities for cost savings and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate and appropriately facilitate mitigation of input cost increases.
  • Follow and maintain ISO guidelines.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Understanding of integrated supply chain and logistical concepts.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.


  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite especially with Excel
  • Ability to take initiative in an extremely fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Strong work ethic and engagement level
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
