Industrial Engineer (Senior)

MAD is looking for an Industrial Engineer (Senior) to join our growing team.


Primary Function:

Optimize the manufacturing process within a lean or continuous improvement context, establish and lead internal project teams in identifying, designing, and delivering process improvement initiatives including assessment of manufacturing capacity, plant layout, and equipment installation.


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering
  • At least 3 - 5 years of experience in lean manufacturing/process engineering in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience applying the principles underlying TQM, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with the implementation of the “7 Wastes” principles initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with functional processes in all departments (SCM, marketing, sales, maintenance, finance, IT) for “7 Wastes” evaluation
  • Green or black Belt certification in Six Sigma an asset
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software
  • Capable of developing and delivering lean training programs
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


  • Identify unique needs, objectives and plan/execute programs and objectives of a MAD lean manufacturing strategy
  • Evaluate lean, Industrial engineering tools and activities including 5S, Six Sigma, stochastic optimization, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, Cell Layout and Line Balancing, Kanban systems and Kaizen events, as well as providing support in developing and maintaining metrics and performance indicators
  • Establish and lead internal project teams in the identification, design, and delivery of process improvement initiatives e.g. the development and facilitation of workshops pertaining to continuous improvement
  • Apply lean manufacturing concepts in order to improve efficiency by reducing process waste, variation and inflexibility
  • Establish production standards and initiate and implement improvements via process mapping, capacity optimization, gap, and data analysis, and establish production standards or improve existing processes
  • Optimization of manufacturing capacity, plant layout, support equipment installation and improve Key Performance Indicators
  • Working with all departments (SCM, scheduling, Engineering, Marketing and Sales, Maintenance, Finance, IT, R&D, etc.) in order to identify 7 types of waste and come up with proper solution to eliminate them
  • Able to lift up to 15lbs; may work in hot areas 5%, noise 0%
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in work area

This is a salary position working out of our Mississauga, Ontario location. Hours are typically Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
