Jr. Software Developer

MAD is looking for a Jr. Software Developer to join our growing team.


Primary Function:

As a Jr. Software Developer, you will work with our Principal Software Developer to build and maintain code.

The ideal candidate should be self driven and have a systematic problem-solving approach and strong troubleshooting skills. The candidate should have exceptional communication skills, previous experience in a start-up environment, be proactive about improving quality, and one who learns quickly and stays informed regarding industry trends. 


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or Computer Engineering) or equivalent in relevant work experience
  • Co-op work experience preferred
  • Experience working on web and desktop applications
  • Experience working on back-end systems
  • Knowledge of various system architectures and software patterns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience with TypeScript (or JavaScript), C#
  • Experience with MVC, MVP and MVM architectures
  • Experience in Restful Services, WPF and WinForms
  • Experience with databases SQL and Postgres
  • Asset to have Exposure with React, Redux, HTML5, GraphQL and CSS3
  • Experience in source code management and branching techniques (Git preferred)
  • Some experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)


Responsibilities, Skills, and Competencies:

  1. Work closely with and learn from an experienced full stack software developer to build and maintain code across web clients and servers.
  2. Write well-designed, reusable, testable, and efficient code.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  4. Participate in peer code reviews.
  5. Able to lift up to 15lbs; may work in hot areas 5%, noise 0%.
  6. Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in work area.


This is a salaried position working out of our Mississauga, Ontario location.
