Recruiter/ HR Administrator (Contract)

About The Recruiter/ HR Administrator

We are seeking a recruiter who will be responsible for supporting the people strategy specifically with recruitment in our Mississauga and Ottawa location. Full cycle recruitment – from writing attractive job posts, timely screening of candidates, transitioning to interviews and closing to ensure a positive applicant and employee experience and timely fill of the right people aligned with our values. Additionally, in the HR Admin hat, you will be supporting with directing customers to the right individuals, maintaining positive employee experience through supplying facilities and amenities for enjoyment of work.

The ideal candidate should be highly organised and thoroughly enjoys matching people to the right positions. A strong advocate of MAD’s culture and a positive people person. Able to work independently with little or no supervision, mindful of time to fill, flexible to adjust strategy when needed and enjoys the challenges of supporting a business of diverse people.



The successful candidate will ensure timely talent acquisition which is a key part of overall business strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Staffing Logistics – 3 weeks fill rate
  • Evaluate continuously and improve the recruitment process for selection, assessment and follow up
  • Post jobs and screen for candidacy
  • Interview candidates and recommend for transition to next steps
  • Conduct skills tests and profiling assessments for considered candidates
  • Follow up for selection and assist with employment procedures
  • Build relations, apply and use of grants, subsidies for hire and/or apprenticeships
  1. Creating recruitment strategies to identify and assist with planning for hiring needs
  2. Sourcing and attracting suitable candidates to create candidate pool
  3. Collaborating with Hiring Manager(s) for dynamic needs
  4. Providing timely recruitment reports and updates
  5. Keeping up-to-date on current employment legislation, regulations
  6. Employee Onboarding
  • Probationary review follow-ups
  1. Employee Wellness - Coordinate Employee life event gifts 
  2. HR Admin
  • Office, Kitchen, Janitorial, First Aid equipment coordination and supplies
  • Reception and Facilities assignment
  • Phones, Lockers, access cards and managing visitor sign-in, customer directing
  1. HR Projects and other as assigned.


Attributes, Skills and Knowledge:

  • College Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 1-2 years of Recruiting experience
  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing an asset
  • Familiarity and applied knowledge of Employment Standards
  • Demonstrated experience in reports, intermediate MS Office Skills
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Privacy and sensitivity of information will require discretion, an excellent command of verbal and written skills and attention to detail
  • Clear Background Checks - Credit and Criminal
