Sourcing and Inventory Leader

MAD is looking for a Sourcing and Inventory Leader to join our growing team. Could that be you?

Primary Function:

The Sourcing and Inventory Leader will be responsible and accountable for the identification, definition and implementation of strategic initiatives:

  • Support business goals, operations or other requirements based on our Supply Chain base of Suppliers and internal inventory
  • Develop productive relationships with suppliers while leveraging and creating mutually beneficial partnerships that strengthen MAD’s position competitively
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and accuracy by analyzing historical and forecasted demand patterns, as well as directing and planning cycle counts.
  • Create (with MAD) a new paradigm in how a small business manages a supply chain that not only become jewel of DMG group, but a best practice or case study for other businesses our size. A competitive advantage, a key point in our sales pitches. The ideal candidate will have experience with full life cycle of project engineering, including proposal development, execution, and product direction.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on, energetic personality; thoroughly passionate, knows what needs to be done, are not afraid of obstacles, and are able to work independently. They combine great soft skills (listening, negotiating, solving problems) and are detailed-oriented. They are business-focused, strategic and strive for continued excellence. 

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • At least 2 years Sourcing experience in Electronics, Fasteners and Sheet Metal
  • Demonstrated International Sourcing experience
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to create and maintain client relationships
  • At least 2 years experience in Inventory Control (Safety Stock, MOQ, Cycle Counts, Inventory Levels, Inventory turns)
  • Experience in Leadership roles preferred
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing life cycle
  • Able to identify and implement improvement opportunities continuously
  • Demonstrated ERP experience
  • Intermediate to Expert level MS Excel
  • Strong data mining skills, experienced digging into database tables to get required information

Responsibilities: 

  • Implement and maintain Supplier Management Practices as required such as quotes, contracts, score cards, processes, quality, audits, etc.
  • Lead Supplier selections for proper service, quality and price balance to support business growth
  • Lead outsourcing activities and supplier transitions
  • Lead “Make vs Buy” decisions with operations stakeholders
  • Develop expertise on our companies and industry to provide same support for all our businesses globally.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement related to inventory and stocking processes
  • Investigate and facilitate the correction of inventory discrepancies.
  • Reduce overstock and develop initiatives to reduce slow moving inventories and to improve inventory turns
  • Create and maintain monthly reports on inventory levels and PPV
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety.

This is a salaried position working out of our Mississauga, Ontario location, at least 42.5 hours weekly. Hours are typically 8:30am to 5:00pm with flexibility.
